Alumni Achievement
We feel proud in reporting the achievements of our students in various fields. They have not only excelled and brought recognition to themselves but have also brought laurels to the College.
Pallavi Kavya of the BA Hons (Journalism) III year topped the Delhi University in 2007-2008, and was awarded a gold medal.
Abhishek Tyagi of II YR B.A. Hons (Journalism) had topped the DU Journalism Course in the I year and now again in the III Semester, in his IInd year.
Bhanu Joshi of IIyear B.A.Hons(Journalism) won the 2nd prize in UNHCR World Essay Competition on ‘Human Rights in Developing Countries : Perspectives and Opinions”. He is the youngest member among the 8 delegates selected to attend the G 8 Youth Summit in Milan, Italy to be held in 2009 and has been chosen to head the delegation.
I am proud to report that to 2 of our 2006 Journalism Alumni have achieved international recognition.
- Shalini Pant has been awarded the Post Graduate Excellence award by University of Glassgow and a scholarship of 3000 pounds.
- Mayur Paul after completing his master’s in International Development from the University of Manchester is working with Help Age International based in London
Arun Kumar of II YR B.A.HISTORY (Hons) was awarded the Trophy for his essay on Corruption, at the Essay Competition organized by Transparency International, Hong Kong. He has also been selected as Student Jury Member for the International Films for Youth, organized by CHINH.
Gold and silver medals as well as the Trophy in NCC have been won by our students. Also the best Cadet of 2008-2009 has been won by our student Shiv Kumar, I year B.A. (Prog).
In addition to the academic accolades, our College has also hosted certain significant Cultural events which have brought the College into Public notice.
Arun Kumar of B.A. History Hons. II year won the following prizes:
- Ist prize in National Essay Competition organized by “Nandini Voice for Deprived”, a Chennai based organization.
- Awarded Trophy by Transparency International, Hongkong in an Essay Competiton on “Corruption”.
- Won First Prize in ORF-DU Summer workshop.
- Won 7th Prize in Human Right Organization Internationl Essay Competition
- Third Prize in Quiz organized by Miranda House.
- Won Fourth Prize in Paper presentation in Gargi College.
- Selected as International Students Film member Jury organized by “Chinh”.
Prateek & Natasha of B.A.Programme A.S.P.M. IInd Year won
- First prize at Inter College Paper Presentation Competition organized at Laxmi Bai College.
Anukampa Gupta of B.A.(Honours) Journalism IIIrd year won
- A prize in a debate organized at National Human Rights Commission.
- Secured the third position in the Akshay Urjaa Debate organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Resources.
- Won the first prize in a debate organized by Lady Shri Ram College.
Udayan Biswas of B.A.(Honours) Journalism IInd Year won
- Second prize in Abstract Photography at the IIT Delhi.
- Won a prize at the Ad-mad Competition organized at Lady Shri Ram College.

- Second prize at the UNHCR World Essay Competition.
- He was selected from India to attend a seminar – “The Resurgence of Gandhi- focus on Globalisation”.
Karan of B.A.(Honours) Journalism Ist year secured
- Third position in the Akshay Urjaa Debate organized by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy Resources.
